The purple ribbon is a symbol of domestic violence awareness, and of our commitment to stand against this violence in our community. All proceeds from the thrift store go to support Mainstay's efforts to provide education about this issue and to serve the victims of domestic violence in Henderson County.
The Purple Ribbon re-sells donated items, such as clothing, small household items and furniture. In the last fiscal year, the store generated over $100,000, which was used entirely to help finance programs and basic needs for victims of domestic violence, and their children, on the local level. The success of this fund-raising effort is due to the large numbers of hours worked by store volunteers and the generosity of the community at large. In an attempt to increase revenue for our shelter, we are now offering once-a-week pick up for donated furniture items.
Although we appreciate all donations we do apologize there are some items we are unable to accept. Please check our list. Thank you.
Store Hours: Tuesday thru Saturday - 10am to 4pm, Sunday 12pm - 4pm
Donation Hours: Tuesday thru Saturday - 10am to 3pm
