In order to make an online contribution through our secure server and pay through PayPal, users are required to give their contact information (name, e-mail address, address, phone number, and total donation). It is optional for the user to provide additional information (in honor of, in memory of, etc.). This information is used in our donation database to be able to send acknowledgements, mail newsletters and letters.Web Site Race Registration
In order to register for the Mountain Medley, users must first complete the registration form on our secure server and pay through PayPal. During registration, users are required to give their contact information (name, e-mail address, address, phone number, event, size, age, gender, emergency contact information, and total payment). It is optional for the user to provide information (guardian contact information, donation amount, etc.). This information is used in the race registration database, or to contact users if there is a problem with the registration. Contact information may only be shared with other race directors.Web Statistics and Cookies
Mainstay uses Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors engage with our website. The cookie is used to store information, such as what time the current visit occurred, whether the visitor has been to the site before, and what site referred the visitor to the web page. The information which is collected is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.Users have the option of disabling or not accepting cookies by changing the preferences on their browsers. Different browsers have different cookie settings.
Alternatively, several browsers now offer Private Browsing:
- Internet Explorer 8 features InPrivate Browsing and InPrivate Fltering options. Using InPrivate Browsing mode, no cookies or histories are stored within the InPrivate Browsing session.
Using InPrivate Filtering, third-party content such as Google Analytics will be blocked. These features can be accessed by using the Safety Option on the upper right side of the browser window.
- Firefox 3.5 has a similar Private Browsing mode, where cookies and other browsing information not stored. This can be accessed from Tools > Start Private Browsing.
- Safari versions 3 and 4 offer a Private Browsing mode, under the Safari menu.
